AI visibility checker
See whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews can reach, read, and understand your website. Free, no signup, and every problem comes with a fix.

What it checks
The technical groundwork, in the order a crawler meets it. For the rest of the work, read showing up inside AI answers. To see how real sites score, read our audit of 110 SaaS homepages.
- Can AI crawlers reach the site?
- Whether robots.txt lets in the crawlers behind ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, whether a firewall turns them away, and whether noindex or nosnippet stops answers from quoting you. Training crawlers are listed separately, because blocking them is a fair choice that does not remove you from AI answers.
- Can they read it?
- Most AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. We count the words in your HTML before any script runs, then look at the title, the meta description, and the main heading.
- Can they understand it?
- Structured data that says who is behind the site, a canonical URL, Open Graph tags, an XML sitemap, and an llms.txt file.
Questions, answered
What the results mean, and what they do not.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. There is no signup and no email gate. Each check fetches a few public files from your site and runs some rules on them, with no AI model involved, so it costs us next to nothing to run.
- Does a clean report mean ChatGPT will cite my site?
- No. This checks the groundwork: whether AI crawlers can get in, read your pages, and tell who you are. Whether an answer engine then cites you depends on your content, your reputation, and who else covers the topic. Nothing from the outside can promise a citation.
- Should I block GPTBot and other training crawlers?
- That is your call. Training crawlers collect text for future models. Blocking them does not take you out of AI search answers, which use separate crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, and Claude-SearchBot. Block training if you want to; keep the search crawlers open if you want to be found.
- Do I need an llms.txt file?
- It is a proposed convention, not a standard, and no major AI product has said it reads llms.txt. It is a small markdown file that takes minutes to add, so we treat a missing one as something to improve, not a failure, and we draft one for you.
- Why does the firewall check say "may be blocking"?
- We send one request that identifies itself as GPTBot. If that gets refused while a normal visit works, your host treats AI crawlers differently. Real crawlers are verified by their IP addresses, which we cannot use, so the refusal could also mean your firewall blocks bots it cannot verify. Your host or CDN settings will tell you which.
- Do you store the sites I check?
- We keep each result for ten minutes so repeat checks are instant and your site is not fetched over and over. We do not keep a list of the sites people check.
