What font is this website using?

Paste a website to see its heading and body fonts, every web font it loads, and whether each one is free, licensed or made for the brand.

What it checks

Everything the CSS says about type, read without running JavaScript. We record names, never the font files. To see which fonts SaaS companies pick, read our study of 200 SaaS homepages.

The heading and body fonts
The family on the first H1 and on the first real paragraph, worked out from the CSS the way a browser would apply it: inline styles, then classes, then the h1 and body rules, following CSS variables along the way. If the H1 sets no family of its own, it inherits the body font.
Every web font on the page
Each family declared with @font-face or requested from Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts, with its weights, whether it is a variable font, and where it is served from: Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, the site itself or its site builder.
Free, licensed or made for the brand
Whether each family is free or open source, licensed from a foundry, or custom-made for the company, using the family list from our study of 200 SaaS homepages. When we cannot place a family with confidence, we say so instead of guessing.

Questions, answered

Is it free?
Yes. There is no signup. Each check fetches the page and a few of its stylesheets, then runs a set of rules on the CSS. No AI model is involved.
Do you download the font files?
No. We read the HTML and CSS and record family names and file names, the same way our typeface study did. We never download, store or redistribute font files.
Why does it say it could not tell?
Some sites set their fonts with JavaScript, load them from a script such as an Adobe Fonts kit, or spread their CSS across dozens of files. We read the HTML the server sends and up to four stylesheets, without running JavaScript. When that is not enough to be sure, the result says so rather than guessing.
How accurate is it?
It uses the same method as our study of 200 SaaS homepages, where a hand check of 30 sites found 92% of heading and body calls correct. The study read up to 60 stylesheets per site; this tool reads four, chosen to be the likeliest to hold the base styles, so sites that split their CSS across many files are harder to call. For a definite answer on one element, use your browser’s inspector.
Can I use a font I find here on my own site?
Free and open-source families, like most on Google Fonts, can usually be used anywhere. Licensed families need a licence from their foundry, and custom families belong to the company that commissioned them. Check the licence before you use any of them.
Do you store the sites I check?
We keep each result for ten minutes so repeat checks are instant. We do not keep a list of the sites people check.
